Royalties
To calculate how much you will receive as royalties, you set the retail price and allow a discount percentage (typically 25% for amazon).
Take away the cost of the book and the balance is your royalty payment.
Examples of royalty payments:
Retail price for a 208 page book, £9.95
less 25% for amazon and other retailers (£2.49)= £7.46
less the cost of producing the book, £4.28 = £3.18 royalty paid to the author.
Royalties are paid to the author 90 days from the end of the month in which sales are reported by the distributor if they are £50 or more. If it is less than £50 it will be paid in the next applicable month that cumulative payments are more than £50.
